About the artists

The Munkácsy Prize winner Emese Benczúr works and lives in Budapest. Ever since she graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1996, she had several solo exhibitions, and she’s been a regular participant of both domestic and foreign displays of pieces of fine art. Her works were presented at renowned international events, like Manifesta 2, La Biennale di Venezia or Liverpool Biennial of Contemporary Art and are valued pieces of both private and institutional collections (MUSAC Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León, Het Domein Sittard, Ludwig art collection).

In her conceptional pieces of art the monotonously repeated sutile writing, the recurring slogans, and the antitraditional elements are to question the meaning of human acts and art.
